AD TUBI INOSSIDABILI

Update from our apiary

In July 2024, together with Apicoltura Urbana, we inaugurated our corporate apiary dedicated to the protection of the Italian Ligustica honey bee, a subspecies at risk of extinction.

We started with two beehives hosting around 120,000 bees, and in 2026 we will expand the apiary to a total of ten hives. This project actively contributes to the protection of biodiversity and to maintaining the balance of the local ecosystem.

What happens inside the hives in January? How do bees behave during the coldest months?

Not all bees have the same lifespan. Those born in spring and summer live only a few weeks, while bees born in autumn play a special and essential role in the survival of the hive. These are known as winter bees, and they can live up to four or five months.

Their task is crucial: protecting the queen, maintaining warmth inside the hive, and guiding the colony through the winter, enabling a new beginning in spring. To do this, nature prepares them differently: they store more energy, are stronger, and more resistant to stress and disease.

This ability to adapt, plan ahead, and safeguard the future makes winter bees a powerful symbol of sustainability. A balance built on forward-looking choices, responsible use of resources, and care for what lies ahead.

At AD Tubi, we believe in the same principles: we work within an ecosystem where every person contributes to the harmonious functioning of the whole, thanks to a clear distribution of roles, collaboration, and a shared sense of responsibility. We build today with awareness, to ensure continuity, strength, and long-term value. Because sustainability is not just a goal, but a daily commitment to the future.
