AD TUBI INOSSIDABILI

One Minute With… Alessandra Camagni

Our journey to discover the people behind A.D. Tubi Inossidabili continues with a new edition of “One Minute With…”.

Today we meet Alessandra Camagni, Accounting Specialist, who joined the company in 2019. Over the years, her professional journey has led her to grow within the Administration department, developing an increasingly deep understanding of its processes and the ability to read numbers beyond the data itself.

With Alessandra, we talk about accuracy, organisation and analytical thinking, as well as cross-functional collaboration and the central role Accounting plays in the company’s day-to-day operations.

Name and role
Alessandra Camagni, Accounting Specialist.

How long have you been working at A.D. Tubi Inossidabili, and how did your journey with the company begin?
I joined A.D. Tubi Inossidabili in 2019, initially supporting the Accounting and Reception teams and also handling shipping documentation. Over the years, my role gradually evolved and, after the Covid period, I moved permanently into the Administration department, where I now work as an Accounting Specialist.

What does working in the Administration department of a company like A.D. Tubi actually involve?
First and foremost, it means working with accuracy, organisation and great attention to deadlines, while also contributing to the company’s overall efficiency. At the moment, for example, we are focusing closely on cost monitoring to identify potential areas for improvement and greater efficiency. Teamwork is also essential: I work closely with Carola Chiaradia every day, and strong collaboration among colleagues is key to ensuring that all administrative activities run smoothly.

What are the main responsibilities of your role as an Accounting Specialist?
My main responsibilities include ensuring that payment and collection deadlines are met, keeping our banking activities updated on a daily basis, and managing outgoing invoices. These are different tasks, but they all require consistency, careful monitoring and great attention to detail.

Which part of your job requires the greatest attention and accuracy?
I would say all of it! Accuracy and attention to detail are essential in every aspect of this job, particularly when managing administrative processes involving customers and suppliers. Even a small mistake can affect subsequent activities, so it is important to always make sure that everything is correct.

Your job involves many deadlines. How do you manage priorities and unexpected issues?
For me, the key word is organisation. Every day I know which activities need to be managed, which allows me to plan ahead for deadlines and give the right priority to any unexpected issues that may arise. I think personality also plays a part: I am naturally a very precise and organised person, and my desk probably reflects the way I work! Having an organised mindset helps me turn even an unexpected issue into something that can be analysed, organised and solved.

What are the details that really make a difference in your work?
Planning and, above all, thoroughness. You should never take anything for granted: checking, and sometimes double-checking, that documents are correct is essential. These controls help prevent errors and ensure that the entire administrative process runs smoothly.

How important is collaboration with the other departments in the company?
It is essential, because Administration is connected to virtually every area of the company. We work with the Sales team on customer payment schedules, with Purchasing and Logistics to check that invoices match orders and agreed payment terms, with HR on payments and employee-related deductions, and with Production on checks relating to orders and incoming invoices. All this information comes together within a single system that also allows us to monitor company costs, identify potential discrepancies and support the business in finding cost-saving opportunities.

What is the most important skill you have developed over the years?
Definitely the ability to read numbers beyond the data itself. With experience, you learn to recognise when something does not add up, to ask the right questions and to investigate further to understand the reasons behind it. It is an analytical skill that develops over time and gives you a much broader understanding of the company.

What would you say to someone considering a career in Administration and Accounting?
It is certainly a profession based on numbers and procedures, and it is particularly suited to people who naturally value organisation, accuracy and analysis. But there is much more to it than that. When you look at it from a broader perspective, you realise that Administration plays a central role within the company’s ecosystem, as it provides a cross-functional view of what is happening throughout the organisation.

What are you most proud of in your work?
Knowing that when administrative processes are accurate, timely and run smoothly, my contribution has played a part. It may not always be the most visible aspect of the business from the outside, but it is essential to the company’s overall efficiency.

People often say that numbers tell the story of a company. Is that really true?
Absolutely. Over the years, this job allows you to develop increasingly strong analytical skills: you no longer simply record numbers and data, but learn how to read and interpret them and understand what is happening within the company and, in some cases, in the market as well. It is one of the most interesting aspects of the profession and represents an important part of the professional growth of anyone who chooses a career in Accounting.
